Artic Winds Pummel Houston
As we all know, Houston customarily enjoys rather mild winters. When it does get down near or to freezing, temperatures rebound rather quickly. This year, we are experiencing some unusually chilly temperatures, and this latest cold spell is lasting longer than normal. It has been cold and windy for two days, and the winds are just now starting to relent a bit.
Not only is it COLD in Houston this week, but we are expected to get measurable snowfall for the third winter in a row! That is record-breaking history for a city that normally goes several YEARS between measurable snowfalls, so let's all be careful out there on the roads in the next couple of days.
Please check with your teacher before coming in for a lesson or class during the next two days (Feb 3 & 4). It is supposed to start snowing sometime during the afternoon or evening on Thursday, February 3. We don't know how much snow will fall, or just when it might fall, but we do know that drivers in this city have trouble coping with the road conditions our infrequent snowfalls bring.
Also check with the studio before showing up for the Practice Party Friday. If conditions deteriorate seriously, it is quite likely that we will cancel the party. As much as we'd like to see you, we really want you to be safe. Therefore, we'd rather cancel the party than to have you risk your lives to be here. So - especially if it snows much or you wonder if the roads are icy - do check with us at either 832-721-3968 or 713-248-2299 before heading out for a dance that may have been canceled.
Thanks and stay safe,
Phillip, Michael and all the teachers at
The Dance Place
