November Updates for 2011
My "Rick Perry" Moment
To everyone, but especially to Andrea Bucelli's fans, I wish to apologize if I offended anyone by my less than tactful statements about Mr. Bucelli in the last report on Dancing With The Stars. I do know that Mr Bucelli is blind. I intended to re-write my comments before dispersing them, but I had a "Rick Perry Moment" and failed to get that done. After having a computer guru in my office for 2 days and losing time to that, then actually losing the computer because it "died", I was away for a week and really got behind on things. Upon returning, I had a pile of things to catch up on, and also had to watch comment on the Halloween Week DWTS, then immediately watching the Nov 7 & 8 DWTS shows and doing commentary. I watch the 11/8 Results Show late at night when I was tired, and I had to fit the editing of the commentary into 45 minutes between lessons on 11/9 on a computer that is also on its last legs. I meant to re-write my commentary to say that, like Ray Charles or Stevie Wonder, it would be nice if Andrea Bucelli wore sun glasses and moved around some when singing. Instead, I rushed through things and didn't get that done and sent out something that was less than tasteful, and I do apologize. If anyone wishes to tell me personally what a horrid person I am, direct comments to Phillip Stephens via philtex44@aol.com.
Class Schedules
November and December are Holiday months and schedules often get rearranged. It would be a good idea to check with your teacher to make sure that your private and/or group sessions will take place at their normal times on their normal days.
Thanksgiving
There will not be a Friday Night Practice Party on the Friday after Thanksgiving, which is Friday, November 25.
Holiday Show
Our 27th Annual Holiday Show will take place on Saturday, December 17. The show will start at 7pm. You may make reservations now, but tickets won't officially be on sale until the 28th of November. It is not too late to register to be in the show, but we do only have a limited number of spots remaining. If you have reserved a spot or 2 for your routines, you are all set, though it might be a good idea to reconfirm with Phillip to make sure he hasn't dropped you from the list while having another "Rick Perry Moment". Tickets cost $25 per adult and we do have reduced rates for children. We will be serving a light meal after the show, which should end around 9:30 or 10pm. There will be some general dancing during the two intermissions. Register to perform a routine by contacting Phillip (philtex44@aol.com) or Michael (mgs122156@sbcglobal.net). We will need all music for the show by no later than Sunday, December 11. Michael can cut music for you and does an excellent job, but you do need to arrange this ahead of time. This is really shaping up to be a great show, so, as they say, "Be there or be square".
December Parties
We only have 2 Friday Night Practice Parties in December, one on the 2nd and one on the 9th. USA Dance will have their 2nd Saturday dance on December 10.
