Valentine's and Rodeo Specials
The Dance Place does its best to find out what our clientele wants in the way of dance services, and we've added several new classes recently to show you that we really do listen to what you have to say.
New on our schedule are the additional First Steps class that Michael Schedler teaches at 7pm on Wednesdays. We've also got a Beginner Country Western class at 8pm on Wednesdays taught by the fabulous Vickie Dunn, and Phillip has brought back his Pre-Advanced Ballroom class at 8pm on Wednesdays. He'll be covering some interesting variations in Foxtrot during February, so be sure and join that class and get in on those flashy new moves.
Michael Schedler also added a Second Steps / Pre-Intermediate Ballroom class at 7pm on Tuesdays. That's the perfect class to move into once you've completed the Wednesday or Friday First Steps series. You'll learn more patterns, solidify your leading or following techniques, gain more confidence with the timing of each dance, become more adept with the leg actions and footwork, and just improve in general. We've also added a Level 3 / Intermediate Ballroom class at 7pm on Fridays that will take all the items just mentioned one step further and you will really start to feel confident about your dancing after a few weeks in that class. So what are you waiting for? Get busy and sign up!
Online Registration is now available for most classes. If it is available, a "button" is present when you open the class window by clicking on the class in the schedule/calendar. You can register and pay from the convenience of your office or home and be all set to strut your stuff when you arrive at The Dance Place. You'll still need to check in at the front desk to complete the registration process, but most of the work will be done by then.
Note: Sorry, but Discounts/Specials are not available through Online Registration.
We are offering Two "Specials" for February. The first one is a Rodeo Special. For this, we've got none other than Miss Vickie Dunn all set and ready to teach 2 classes back-to-back on Saturdays beginning February 5th. The first one will be at 1pm and will cover 2-step. The second class will be at 2pm and will cover both the Polka and the Swing. The classes normally cost $50 per person per 4-week series. For this special, we're giving a 20% discount on the first class you sign up for, bringing the cost down to just $40 per person. If you sign up for both classes at the same time, you get a 40% discount on the second one! Is that a deal or what? Save up to $30 if you take both of these classes and get ready for all the great rodeo parties.
We are also offering a Valentine's Special so you can make that special someone feel really appreciated in February. The deal? Buy a gift certificate for someone and we'll take 20% off of a private lesson or 4-week group class series you purchase. This offer is only good on private or group lessons purchased through The Dance Place and does not include private lessons or group classes offered by independent teachers. This offer is not available for the previously mentioned Rodeo Special. You can apply the discount on up to three (3) private lessons for any one gift certificate, so get a card and put a gift certificate from The Dance Place in it for that special Valentine you know.
We'll be hosting a "Think Pink" party on Friday, February 11, to help us all celebrate Valentine's Day. Wear Pink to the party and you'll be eligible to win prizes such as free admission to future parties. The party starts at 8pm and runs until 10pm, and is a really fun-filled evening of great dancing with friends. We've got some NEW music discs to play, so come on down and here our new selections for Ballroom dancing. And, as usual, Phillip will be leading the very popular Samba Line Dance.
Our Gulf Coast Stars Dance Tournament will be held at The Dance Place on Saturday, April 16. Details for entering the competition are now available. This will be a really great day with exciting competitions available for children, Juniors, young adults and clear through the normal adult competition age spectrum. There are events in American and International styles at all levels, and solo entries are also welcome. We've got some multi-dance "Challenges" and Scholarships available, too, so get busy and polish up your routines and enter this event.
In conjunction with the Gulf Coast Stars Dance Tournament, we'll be running some National Qualifying Events that will entitle successful contestants to enter the International Dance Organization (IDO) World Championships in Salsa, Bachata and Argentine Tango. This is being done on behalf of the United States Dancesport Competition Federation (USDSF), and this is history in the making. This is the first time these National Qualifying Events are being held in the US, and it is truly an honor to be hosting these events for the USDSF. Details for entry will be available soon, so get in touch with us so you can be a part of history.
