Halloween Costume Party, DWTS, Studio Updates
Phillip was away last week and didn't get to watch DWTS. He will issue a double report after catching up on everything, so look for a "2-fer" by Wednesday, Nov 10.
At our October 29 Halloween Costume Party, we had quite a few people show up in costume. Phillip was a "Wal-Mart Shopper". Don McK wanted to know if Phillip REALLY had all that stuff in his closet! One lady thought he looked ready for rehearsal on Dancing With The Stars. Michael Schedler was a scuba diver, Vickie Dunn was a lovely fairy with wings and wand, Cynthia and JP were judo experts, and there were other great costumes that night.
Marlaina was a lovely Arabian belly dancer and won the top prize, which was free admission to our 26th Annual Holiday Show on December 18. Jeanie was a lovely genie and won two free admissions to future Friday Night Parties. Our congratulations to those two lovely ladies, who so graciously posed for the attached photo.
We want to thank:
1. Mary Lou Kyriacou for helping out while we were gone on our trip to the Honduras. Mary Lou helped alter decorations and also helped with class registrations.
2. Phyllis Baker for helping with the decorations, class registrations and then the Friday Night Party.
3. Vickie Dunn for helping keep an eye on the studio during our absence, and for helping with the Friday Night Party.
4. All the teachers who also kept an eye on the place while we were gone.
Thanks again, gang - we sure feel better knowing we can rely on you when we leave town.
As mentioned in an earlier e-newsletter, we expect to have online registration available soon. These things sound simple, but they aren't. With our hectic schedules, it sometimes takes us quite a while to get with the folk who help with these plans for improvement, then we have to wait for them to do their part, then we have to find time to review their submissions and make needed changes, etc. But we eventually get it all done. So - look for the online registration to be available at www.theplace2dance.com in the relatively near future.
Another thing we are going to work on is getting a "blog" for The Dance Place so that you will all get notices when something gets posted to the blog, and then you can go there to read things like Phillip's famous DWTS reviews. We have to learn a lot more about it first, but expect to see a TDP blog by early in the new year.
OK - That's a wrap for now. Keep an eye out for those reports on DWTS by Wednesday. We do know that Rick Fox got ousted from the show this past Tuesday. That's a real mystery to us, and makes Phillip wonder why they get rid of relatively good dancers like Audrina Patridge and Rick Fox and keep rather poor dancers like Kurt Warner, Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin. Ah, well, a lot of it is a popularity contest, so go figure!
Happy Dancing, and remember
www.the-dance-place.com is also www.theplace2dance.com
