About the Studio
The Dance Place - owned and operated by Michael Schedler and Phillip Stephens - has been teaching Houston to dance since January, 1985. Located at 3300 Chimney Rock Rd., Suite 500, the studio is in the Galleria area of Houston, TX.
The Dance Place is one of the largest Ballroom dance studios in the nation. Over 30 experienced professionals teach in our large and spacious facilities. Michael and Phillip believe strongly in providing a clean and friendly place where people can enjoy learning to dance without the hassle of signing expensive and long-term contracts for dance lessons.
Instruction is available 7 days per week at The Dance Place in C&W, Club, Swing, Whip, Hustle, Salsa, Theatrical, American Ballroom, American Rhythm, International Latin and International Standard styles of dance. We teach social, exhibition and competitive styles of dance and we also help couples prepare for their weddings by providing them with choreographed wedding dances.
Phillip Stephens holds 8 Fellowship degrees in dance and is an Examiner for Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD); he and The Dance Place offer training programs for folk interested in becoming dance teachers.
